Installing the Halo remote

There are two ways to install a Halo Remote into a Control4 project. Using the Control4 mobile app or the manual setup process on the remote.

Before you begin, dock the Halo remote with the provided charger.

Note: The Control4 system must be running OS 3.3.2 or higher.

1: Using the Control4 mobile app OS3

1. Open the app on your mobile device and connect to the project.

2. Go to Settings > Select the system name > Add Halo Remote.

3. Power on the Halo remote and scan the QR Code with the mobile device.

4. Follow the instructions on your mobile device.

Using the Control4 mobile app OS4

1. Open the Control4 app.
2. Go to Settings > Devices > Proceed.
3. Scan the QR code.
4. Follow the instructions on the Control4 app after scanning the QR code.

2: Manual process on the remote (for installers who do not have access to their customer’s Control4 account or mobile device)

1. Power on the remote to the first-time setup screen, which shows the QR code.

2. Click the remote’s Select button to choose Add without C4 app at the bottom right of the screen.

3. Follow the remote’s onscreen instructions to add the remote to the Control4 system.

4. Use the remote’s directional pad to enter the Wi-Fi credentials.
